WANGANELLA & POLL BOONOKE RAM AUCTION 2015



THANK YOU to all successful buyers and underbidders for your support of the Wanganella and Poll Boonoke genetics at our auction on 16 September 2015.

The 175 rams offered sold to a top of $17,000 with an across the board average for the 175 rams of $2,940.

The 17 March Regulation Shorn Shedded Wanganella rams averaged $5,912, while the 68 April Shorn paddock Wanganella rams averaged $2,489.

For the Poll Boonoke rams, the 16 March Regulation Shorn Shedded rams averaged $5,531 and the 74 paddock rams averaged $2,111.

Elders Riverina Sheep Expo Deniliquin, August 2015

For the third successive year Angus Munro found himself holding the Elders Riverina Merino Ram of the Year at the conclusion of the Merino judging, which is a feature of the Elders Riverina Sheep Expo.

The win also continued the success that Poll Boonoke 4.0948 has experienced in the showring this year.

Having placed 3rd in the Qld State Sheep Show Junior Judging in May then 2nd in the Hay Sheep Show Junior Judging in June, Will Nadin finished in 1st place in the competition at the Australian Sheep & Wool Show.

The Wanganella & Poll Boonoke Studs have shown the Champion March Shorn Medium Wool Merino Ram at 4 out of the last 5 Australian Sheep & Wool Shows and the Junior Champion Ram at 3 out of the last 5 Shows.

This success comes on the back of Poll Boonoke 3.0037 winning the title last year.

The Company's Wanganella blood commercial Burrabogie flock at Hay, managed by David Marshall and classed by Chris Bowman, had an outstanding showing in the highly contested Commercial Flock Classes. The judges awarding the Burrabogie ewes:

  • Supreme Champion Pen of Flock Ewes
  • Hay Merino Breeders Inc Pen of Five Merino Ewes
  • Champion Pen of Ewe Hoggets
  • Les Miliken Memorial Trophy for the Best Two Ewes

New additions to the Stud Team, James Graham and Will Nadin, secured 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Junior Judging Competition.
